We’ve been trying to team up with Ranger for over a year now and we finally got together on 11.11.11 for two songs. We caught up with them before doing a show in Bloomington. It was worth the wait. I’m such a big fan of their music and just being able to have a private session with them was a big deal. Thankfully they performed “Chance and Romance” first which is the song that first caught my attention. A Ranger classic.

It’s been awhile since we featured a duo on the blog. Daniel And The Lion consists of Daniel Pingrey & Jimmie Linville and was part 2 of our “Lions & Tigers” one-take sessions on March 12th, 2011. We were only able to spend a short amount of time with DATL but it was time well spent. We grabbed them for a single song session in a nearby parking garage staircase. I knew we were in for something magical when Daniel pulled a vintage accordion out of a case. The outcome was music perfection. Filming with goosebumps on my arms is a rarity. This was one of those times.

Lions and Tigers on the OTS Blog!
Here is part 1 of the “Lions & Tigers” session (Daniel And The Lion is part 2). Valentiger contacted us a few months ago about shooting a session when their tour took them through Terre Haute, Indiana. Brent, Eric and Scott call Grand Rapids, MI home and are currently on a national tour which includes some shows at SXSW 2011. The sun had just went down and for those that live in the midwest in March understand that that means it gets cold quick! I guess Eric and Scott had to get their blood pumping a bit after playing “ALL I” so they instantly took a short jog after the last note (Scott, tambourine on foot and all).
Enjoy this solid one-take performance from Valentiger.

OTS took the winter off from shooting but not booking. Springtime is OTS time! We are scheduling some rad sessions with some great talent.
